Yamasa Hamono carries on the traditional blade-forging techniques of the Tosa region. Mr. Tsutomu Kajiwara, a master blacksmith in his 80s, continues to craft knives at Yamasa with expert skill and dedication.

The origins of Yamasa knives are deeply rooted in the culture of blacksmiths—craftsmen who have been creating tools to support local communities since the time of Mr. Tsutomu Kajiwara’s grandfather.

Yamasa Hamono primarily produces traditional-style kitchen knives that are fully handcrafted and affordably priced.
